Pioneering Cell-Based Therapies Against Liver Toxicity: Graduate Students Present Their Findings

Our graduate students Nigar Seyidova and Leman Guluzade successfully presented their theses on June 12, 2025. In their studies, the protective effects of Wharton gel-derived mesenchymal stem cells on chemotherapy and paracetamol-induced hepatotoxicity were investigated in both 2D in vitro systems and liver-on-a-chip platforms. With this unique approach, the potential protective roles of cell-based therapies against liver toxicity were evaluated in both traditional and advanced microphysiological models, and remarkable findings were obtained. We wholeheartedly congratulate both of our valuable students for their scientific contributions and wish them continued success. We would like to sincerely thank all our supporters, especially Eskişehir Osmangazi University, TÜBİTAK, and TÜSEB, who contributed to this process.
